L operates through speculative experimentation at the intersection of art, design, and product development–subverting conventional frameworks to reveal hidden dimensions of the familiar.
Inspired by the "This Side Up" arrow symbol on packaging boxes, the design inverts the arrow into stool legs, transforming a functional symbol into a furniture form.
The seemingly top-heavy structure adheres to mechanical principles: despite its small contact area, vertical force distribution ensures pressure equal to that of wider legs. This creates a cognitive play through optical illusion.
When seated off-center, the stool immediately wobbles as a reminder—physical instability mirrors behavioral norms, metaphorizing the invisible order of modern society: rules that appear restrictive are, in fact, foundations of balance.
