L operates through speculative experimentation at the intersection of art, design, and product development–subverting conventional frameworks to reveal hidden dimensions of the familiar.

My idea is simple, to visualize the topic of life and death. So far, we still can’t convince ourselves to face taboo topics calmly. In order to make it seem less offensive, I plan to use a relatively obscure way to let people concretely perceive this abstract concept.

One of the projects uses China's 2020 census data table as a concept. The birth population is at the bottom, and the elderly population is at the top. It uses a graphic three-dimensional method to intuitively feel the proportional relationship of the population age gradient, and carries it. As a vehicle, I chose candles or candlesticks to express the imagery of people being able to skillfully perceive the passage of time. When it is turned into a real object and has a dynamic feeling, it is no longer a cold data and pattern. Perhaps through such practice, the viewer can have new experiences and observations about life and life and death.
