L operates through speculative experimentation at the intersection of art, design, and product development–subverting conventional frameworks to reveal hidden dimensions of the familiar.
Traditionally, containers are perceived as enclosed shells — welded steel structures designed for storage and protection. Curved seams, standardized openings, and supporting frameworks form the industrial vocabulary that defines our collective understanding.
We chose to unfold metal into planar forms. As the shell expands into undulating geometric patterns, the container begins to articulate its function through folds and depressions. Structures once bound by conventional engineering now fulfill their roles through reimagined configurations.
Within this two-dimensional expansion, the utilitarian logic of three-dimensional containers remains intact, yet sheds its conventional form. When observers search for welded seams, they encounter instead a narrative of shape — a rejection of standardized templates. This is Studio L's quiet challenge to habitual thinking: the very rules we accept as "common sense" may themselves become invisible vessels of constraint.
